Above 1.8m People Received Assistance in Four Provinces

KABUL (BNA) The World Food Programme (WFP) says in the current year, in four provinces of Afghanistan above 1.8 million people in Sar-e-Pul, Nuristan, Ghazni, and Farah have received assistance from the organization.

According to the organization, 573,694 people in Sar-e-Pul, 127,491 in Nuristan, 908,131 in Ghazni, and 233,096  in Fara provided food and non-food items, WFP adds that a total of more than 1.8 million people in mentioned four provinces of the country benefited for humanitarian aid.

The World Food Programme (WFP) says the process of humanitarian aid distribution follows up in utmost of Afghanistan’s provinces, efforts are underway to provide more assistance to needy and deserving families.

UN stated that freezing Afghanistan’s assets in foreign banks have situated millions of people at risk of drought, rising unemployment, economic adversity, and severely reduced access to food.

The United Nations has warned that Afghanistan will face a severe humanitarian crisis if the economic challenges do not address.
