Taliban Attack On Gen. Dostum Convoy Spoiled

Kabul (BNA) Taliban group attack on convoy of Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, First Vice President has been spoiled in Faryab.
Nine armed Taliban have been killed and a number of others injured in the incident.
The convoy has been targeted after Gen. Dostum returned from Ghormach district of Faryab. The first vice president was in Ghormach for fighting against terrorism.
An ANA commander in Faryab province told BNA that nobody has been harmed in the incident, adding that nine armed Taliban have been killed and a number of others injured.
The Taliban attack happened day after the first vice president once again accused Pakistan ISI for leading the war against the people and government of Afghanistan.
According to another report, the country’s first vice president says nearly 1,000 armed Taliban would surrender to Afghan security forces and would give up war against the people of Afghanistan.
The Taliban are currently active in parts of Pashtoonkot, Ghormach, Almar, Qaisar districts of Faryab province where they were fighting against the people and government of Afghanistan.
Gen. Dostum says that terrorist groups in Faryab have been defeated and are not able to face with the country’s security forces.
Pointing to clearing most parts of Almar and Qaisar districts of Faryab, Gen. Dostum said the country’s security forces would then focus on Ghormach district where terrorists had still active presence.
