UN to Continue Cooperation With Electoral Commissions, Special Representative

Kabul (BNA) Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh met with UN Special Representative to Afghanistan Tadamichi Yamamoto, BNA reported the other day.
VP Danesh thanked Afghanistan’s international partners cooperation particularly UN office in Kabul in holding parliamentary elections, the agency further said.
Stressing on continued cooperation of UN office in Kabul with electoral commissions to ensure transparency and review the problems in term of parliamentary elections, VP Danesh said the experiences gained through this elections would help raise hopes for holding presidential elections expected to be held next year, BNA added.
Likewise, expressing glad over holding parliamentary elections, UN Special Representative to Kabul appreciated the government and electoral commissions’ efforts, particularly of the security forces for ensuring security of the process.  He added in consultation and coordination with Afghanistan’s international partners, they would continue cooperation with electoral commissions.
