Gul-e-Arghawan Festival Opened In Parwan

Kabul (BNA) The Gul-e-Arghawan (Judas tree) festival was opened in Gulghundi hilltop of Charikar city, Parwan province yesterday.
According to BNA correspondent, the festival was attended among others by the deputies of the ministry of Information and Culture, Kabul governor, local officials of Parwan and some poets, writers and cultural personalities.
To welcome the guests, Parwan governor Abdul Basir Salangi highlighted the traditional festival of Gul-e-Arghawan.
In his address, the deputy on culture to ministry for information and culture, Sayed Musadiq Khalili besides highlighting the cultural importance of the festival said that holding such festivals is the cultural
Specifications of the nations and holding of festivals in fact related to the economy, culture, religious and geographical specifications of societies.
In this regard he said that Jashn-e-Deqan or farmer festival, Gul-e-Orange festival, Gul-e-Sunjid and many more, adding for the first time last year the Gul-e-Arghawan festival had been officially recognized by the minister for information and culture Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen in Parwan.
In her speech, Seemin Hassanzada the deputy on publication with the ministry for Information and Culture thanked those participated in the traditional festival.
