NSA Left For Moscow To Attend ‘Russia Security Conference’

Kabul (BNA) National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Haneef Atmar left for Moscow yesterday on the official invitation of his Russian counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev, to participant in the Russia Security Conference, a statement from the NSA office said yesterday, adding the security officials from 25 nations will participate in the Conference.
Besides addressing regional issues, officials from member countries at the conference will discuss combatting terrorist groups in Afghanistan with a particular focus on eliminating Daesh terrorist group and suppressing their activities in Afghanistan and the region, the statement added.
Participants of the conference are expected to agree on forming an effective joint strategy to fight terrorism and coordinate regional efforts against terrorist groups.
NSA Mohammad Hanif Atmar will also hold talks with Russian officials on series of issues related to mutual and regional interest.  On the sidelines of the conference, the advisor will also hold bilateral talks with the National Security Advisors of China, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, the statement concluded.
