Afghan Civil Society, National Journalists Union Ask For Punishment To Bahadurzai’s Killers

Kabul (BNA) Afghan civil society association and national union of Afghan journalists yesterday in a news conference asked for query of the death of Sarem Khan Bahadurzai, director of Raio Milma based in Urgon district of Paktika. 
Sediqullah Tawhidi, an official for media watch told the reporters in news conference, “NAI is asking local officials of Paktika to identify the killers of the Afghan journalist.”
Tawhidi while condemning the death of the journalist expressed his concern over the safety of journalists in insecure area of the country, asking the government officials for cutback of such concerns. 
Meanwhile, in the news conference, Afghan civil society association considered the death of the journalist as most recent violence incident against journalists in the country, which could be shocking news to journalists and Afghan civil society association. 
The Afghan civil society noted that there were many incidents against the journalists and media in the country, but unfortunately no cases have been investigated so far and whenever such cases were addressed, there would be no space for journalists in Afghanistan to breathe. 
National union of journalists also condemned death of Bahadurzai and stressed that the wildest image of violence is beheading of human. 
Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen, Minister of Information and Culture also condemned the journalist’s death and has asked the security officials for Paktika to identify the killers and punish them. 
At the same time, Afghan civil society association and national union of journalists also condemned desperation and burning incident of Holy Quran and asked for punishment of the perpetrators.
