Elders Seek Solutions To All Problems Through Negotiations, President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met a number of elders of the southeast provinces here in presidential palace yesterday, a statement said.
At the outset, Daud Shah Niazi presented a report on land issues in Khost province, which was earlier instructed by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The elders said that they have met with elders and influential of the Khost province and have classified their demands, asking the president to address them
Later on Niaz Mohammad Ameri briefed the president on future plans of the elders and representatives of southeast provinces, adding they wanted to visit Paktia, Paktika, Ghazni, Logar and MaidanWardak provinces, aiming to collect the people’s problems.
Hinting to elder’s role in solving the problems, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said elders have always prevented blood shedding through negotiations. He said Afghans were tired of war, thanking the elders for their support and vision. The President said Khost was built through sincere support of its people, adding the unity among them should be kept. He also said the land should be classified and based on a proper plan should be distributed to people for better management of agriculture, forests and pastures. The president asked the southeast elders to submit a written report of all the problems together with their plans for the nomads and boosting of agriculture in the said provinces.
