Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani held a consultative meeting with the members of the Wolesi Jirga’s administrative board on important issues, according to a statement from the Presidential Palace.
The meeting was held with the lower house administrative board appreciating President Ghani’s diplomacy, particularly his speeches at the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York and welcoming government’s plans and programs under his leadership.
The board said the Wolesi Jirga stood beside the government and baked all its political, economic and infrastructural programs, the statement said.
The president said current opportunities for Afghanistan were made available after four decades and should be used effectively and that the creation of a national consensus with support of the parliament and people was very important.
‘According to the president, the government would consult the parliament in every step it took for peace talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan and about the role of the legislatures, he said he respected the legislature role enshrined in the country’s constitution.
