Afghanistan Has Made Tremendous Achievements In Women Rights: Danesh

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan has made tremendous achievement in the field of women rights and women status over the past 14 years.
This was stated by second vice president Sarwar Danesh in meeting with the head of women department of the United Nations here yesterday.
Counting the achievements, the vice president said that women participation in the field of leadership, civil society, human rights, education and higher education are part of the progress.
However, he added that there still are challenges ahead to improve women status, adding the government is working to check violence against women by modifying the law. The UN official besides appreciating the government for its efforts to empower women said that soon a new program under the title of “Men for Women” would be launched and it is hoped that the Afghan government to support it.
