Kabul (BNA) The insurgents, attacks on Kunduz are concerning, but people should acknowledge that ANSF are completely ready to defend Kunduz and other parts of the country.
Vast operation is going on in Kunduz and districts by native forces as they have managed to repulse all attacks there. But certain circles enlarge events in Kunduz who are unaware of the regional situation or propagate in favor of their sinister goals. All these propaganda benefit the enemies. The other day, a gathering of the Youth Advocates’ Foundation and members of Kunduz provincial council was held. They rejected these claims that Kunduz is under Taliban besiege or once again Kunduz would collapse at the hand of Taliban. Denying these allegations, the MoD authorities said that currently four operations are underway in Northern provinces.
MoD spokesman BG Dawlat Waziri said, “These are baseless allegations as heavy casualties have been inflicted to insurgents and their bodies and weapons remained in the battlefields. All these are the results of our aggressive strategy in one hand and our military units move forward based on military techniques and programs”. A member of Youth Advocates’ Foundation (YAF) and a number of Kunduz provincial council called situation in this province disturbing and asked the government to concentrate attention with all available resources to security situation of Kunduz. Announcing this support of ANSF in Kabul they said that ANSF are not supported as it requires, and these forces have taken defensive position. Originally, attacks on Kunduz aimed at relaxing pressures on Helmand. Right now opium will be harvested in Helamd. And current war has been extended from south to north on opium and drugs. Our historical enemies and mafia groups are involved in Kunduz situation who make drugs business and don’t want continuation of war on drugs in Helmand.
When the opium season advented in Helmand and security situation worsened, the Afghan government decided to manage it and repulsed the attacks. Beside that the native security forces in Helmand took over the US drone airbases that are capable to prevent drug trafficking and insurgents activities. Therefore, the insurgents tried to relax pressure on Helmand and occupy ANSF base in Kunduz. Last year also on Sep 28, 2015 that Kunduz was occupied by insurgents temporarily for a short time , they intensified attacks on Helmand. So at present these attempts are also for harvesting of opium. The native forces are ready to prevent such efforts. People should be confident that Kunduz would not collapse again by insurgents and its impossible Afghanistan be changed to a hideout of terrorists once again.
