Afghan Products Exhibition Held in Kabul

KABUL (BNA) The Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Afghan Traders and Investors Union held an exhibition today Sunday in Kabul on the occasion of the 11th International Public Fair called “Bahaar Naw” and to celebrate “Industry Week” in the country.

A ceremony attended by Mullah Abdul Ghani, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and many other senior cabinet officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held at the Loya Jirga hall, according to Bakhtar News Agency reporter.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, addressing the ceremony said IEA do is best for the country’s economic self-sufficiency, calling on the businessmen of the country to invest inside the country.

Acting Commerce and Industry Minister, Nooreddin Azizi, while appreciating the functions and activities of the private sector, expressly businessmen and investors in standings of investing in the country, stated their full support from the ministry.

Acting Economy Minister, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, stressed the quality of domestic products and called on all industrialists in the country to take quality in their products utterly because quality can increase people’s trust in domestic products.

Same like, the economic adviser to the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Hassan Shizaei in Kabul, in his speech called Afghanistan a friendly neighbor of Iran and its people the most hardworking people on the planet and assured his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan.

“Iran wants a self-sufficient and prosperous Afghanistan and we are committed to the development of this country to implement our plans.” He added.

During the ceremony, Sakhi Ahmad Peyman, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said that as a result of the efforts of the government and the private sector, today there are more than 5,000 industrial factories in Afghanistan. The sector provides direct employment for more than 400,000 people and indirect employment for another one million people.

At the end of the meeting, the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan inaugurated the 11th International Public Exhibition “Bahaar Naw”

The exhibition, with more than 150 booths for males and more than 150 booths for females has been prepared in separate halls, where handicrafts, food and non-food items, spices, beverages and carpets, detergents, and Electronics are on display and will be open to visitors for three days.
