Senate Discusses Issues On Its Agenda

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Alam Yezedyar first secretary of the Senate chaired the Senate meeting in which chairman of independent elections commission provided information on challenges the elections.
Providing explanation about the elections Fazle Ahmad Manawi chairman of elections commission assured the senators of technical preparations of the commission for 1393 presidential and provincial council elections and added that ensuring the security of election is the duty of security forces and the list of close to 7,000 elections sites have been shared with the security organs.
Manawi added that previous voting cards after a review is credible, and in Jawza of this year new cards will be distributed to eligible people and those having electronic identity cards do not need to obtain new cards.
He rejected rumors that elections will be suspended arguing that the commission has no problems in financing elections budget as well.
He considered specifying of the date for holding elections beyond the authorities of the elections commission but said that there is no doubt in case a decision is taken after consulting with the consultative commission supervising implementation of constitution in this respect.
