Afghanistan, China Are Historic And Friendly Countries, Hekmat Karzai

Kabul (BNA) The deputy on political affairs of the foreign ministry of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hekmat Khalil Karzai met the deputy foreign minister of the People’s Republic of China here yesterday and exchanged views on matters pertaining mutual interests including enhancing relations between the two countries.
Hinting to historic and friendly relations between Afghanistan and China, Khalil Karzai said, “With formation of national unity government, new chapter was opened in relation between the two countries and celebrating 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations by two nations speaks of enhancing relations in different fields.” “I believe that the People’s Republic of China can help Afghanistan in the fields of economy, politics, trade and especially stabilizing peace and security,” Karzai added.
Describing China’s role very important in the war on terror, stabilizing security and capacity building in government departments of Afghanistan, the Afghan diplomat said the government of national unity would welcome Chinese companies and firms to invest in Afghanistan. Expressing happiness over meeting with his Afghan counterpart, the Chinese dignitary said, “The People’s Republic of China is ready to help Afghanistan in the fields of security, economy, mine, peace talks, training professional cadres and is also committed to fulfill all the agreements inked between the two countries.
The Chinese diplomat also invited both foreign minister Rabbani and his deputy Khalil Karzai to visit China during the current year. According to another report, senior advisor to chief executive Mahmoud Saiqal held meeting with deputy to the foreign ministry of China yesterday and besides exchanging views on bilateral relations thanked China for its cooperation to Afghanistan.
