Afghanistan Earns First Position In Iran International Book Exhibition

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan book publishers have gained first position in 27th International Book Exhibition of Tehran.
Deputy Minister of Publication Affairs for Information and Culture Ministry called gaining the first position in the exhibition as honor to all Afghanistan.
Head of Afghanistan book publishers and sellers’ union Dr. Ajmal Aazem in a meeting with Deputy Minister of Publication Affairs for Information and Culture Ministry Simeen Hasanzada briefed related to gaining of the first position and uniquely receiving of visitors from Afghan book publishers in 27th international book exhibition held in Tehran.
Welcoming and congratulating Afghanistan book publishers on this occasion, Simeen Hasanzada considered gaining the first position as national cultural honor to Afghan book publishers and while praising the publishers for their efforts said, “Book is the sign of improvement of a country’s culture and civilization and the country’s cultural contents are transferred through book to coming generations.
We have rich culture with the history of 5000 years, so protection and extension of it depends on book and reading books in the country.”
In the meeting, head of Afghanistan book publishers and sellers’ union Dr. Ajmal Aazem said, “The exhibition was held from May 1st to May 10th in Tehran with participation of publishers from 18 countries, adding more than 10,000 various books were put for exhibition by Afghanistan book publishers.”
He added Afghanistan book publishers earned the first position in the exhibition and most of the books were in literature, history, novel and books in Pashto language, saying more than 70% of the books of Afghan publishers had been sold.
