Afghanistan, EU Sign Contract Worth €200m On State Building

Brusselsl (BNA) Minister of Finance Eklil Hakimi and Neven Mimica, European commissioner for international cooperation and development signed a €200 million contract of state building on the sideline of Brussels Conference on Afghanistan.
The European commissioner for international cooperation and development said during the signing ceremony that the contract suggests their commitments in further functionality of EU´s aids to Afghanistan and that they have confidence on implying reforms by Afghan government.
Eklil Hakimi, Minister of Finance described EU as one of Afghanistan´s major donors and added that it has committed an amount of more than € 3 billion aids to Afghan government. He also added that about 78% of EU´s aid is being provided via Trust Fund to the Afghan Government.
Minister Hakimi further stated that the contract will provide more funding to implement Afghanistan’s strategic development priorities and policies.
The Brussels conference on Afghanistan is already begun in Belgium Capital where more than 100 world leaders and international organizations are supposed to announce civil aids over the four coming years for Afghanistan.
The assistance amount will be made during the years 2017 and 2018.
