Peace Paves Way for Greater Investment: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) In a consultative meeting with leading traders on peace process in Afghanistan, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said peace can pave the way for great investment opportunities in Afghanistan and that eh reconciliation process could not be hidden from the public. According to BNA report, the meeting was attended by acting Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Chairman Khan Jan Alokozay, Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairwoman Manizha Wafiq, Chamber of Industry and Mine Chairman Sherbaz Kaminzada and an investor Zabihullah Ziarmal, who welcomed the President’s efforts about the peace process. The trader representatives said peace was a need which could pave the ground for investment and economic development. They stressed protection of traders and investors in the country and asked the President to focus more on attracting investments and they would support the government in this regard. President Ghani thanked the traders for sharing their views with him said, the peace process could not be kept secret from the public eyes. The government has announced the names of its peace negotiators and the consultative board tasked with collecting views from all segments of the society about peace, the President said. “Investors and the government are helpers of each other, we ought to work decisively for economic until 2024, so our country becomes an exporting nation,” the President said.
