KABUL (BNA) Acting Foreign Minister, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, during a coordination meeting with UN offices, said that Afghanistan can develop for its self-sufficiency with its Major natural resources.
The Ministry on Wednesday held a coordination meeting between UN offices in Afghanistan and the Islamic Emirate’s relevant organs, said a statement.
In this meeting, Foreign Minister, Muttaqi, thanked the UN organizations aid for the people of Afghanistan, and said that Afghanistan can develop for its self-sufficiency with its major natural resources.
“While Afghanistan was affected by four decades of war, now it needs the support of the international community, to be fully able to stand on its own feet”. Muttaqi added.
Meanwhile, the representatives of Afghanistan’s government organs vowed to cooperate with the United Nations organizations and charitable donors, according to the statement.
To ensure the transparency of aid distribution and implementation of the projects they asked UN organizations’ officials to cooperate with the ministries of the relevant sector, the statement added.
The deputy head of UNAMA, Ramiz Alakbarov, during this meeting, said the UN is striving to organize the distribution of aid in a better process to create more job opportunities for the people as well.
The meeting in the end agreed to form a joint coordination committee between the relevant departments of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the organizations of the United Nations, according to the ministry’s statement.
