Digipone, Optical Fiber Inaugurated In Takhar

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Communication and Information Technology (CIT), Amirzai Sangin and his accompanying delegation visited Northern Province of Takhar, were he inaugurated three communication network projects including a 5,000 digit line and optical fiber. The ministry called the inauguration of the three projects another great achievement of the CIT ministry since the last one decade and added that his ministry wanted to help the country be frontrunner in the region. Takhar province was the main focus of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to enjoy better telecommunications services and as seen over 90 percent of the country’s soil is covered by the network and the people are highly helped benefit its services,” Sangin added. The Afghan Telecom-related Salam network offering high-quality services had been introduced in the market in a bid to bring among sound competition among the private networks marketing, the minister observed. According to him, the ministry was not on to set the prices, but as the marketing is getting warmer. The prices would get changes under the markets rivalry. The ministry said the optical fiber would help Afghanistan get connected with the entire world countries as he said, “We are now witnessing the development and hereinafter, the northern Takhar province will also connect the world.” Sangin went on as saying that as usual, the digital phone system is another type of the communication services, which are used in both houses and offices and highly used in internet services by the people in the province like those in many provinces of the country. The people and local authorities of the northern Takhar province also lauded the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (CIT) in the area the networks’ expanded services, as governor, Abdul Latif Ibrahimi told media calling the services in the province valuable and said establishment of the three projects-optical fibers.
Lined digital phones and Salam network was the most prolific services executed by the ministry. During the inauguration ceremony, the governor called implementation of the services a good achievement and high services, the Takhar people would use them in development of their province. According to him, implementation of economic projects in the province was the main need of the people as he noted inauguration of four university building by the higher education and counterdrugs ministries in the province as well as the emphasized a need for reinforcement of the Takhar River banks as one of the most important and great projects. He counted some challenges facing implementation of the uplift projects but, expressed glad over the implementation of the projects despites the menaces. “Unemployment is one the serious challenges” said the governor, but noted that streets among the provincial capital city including a recent 6 km roads had been asphalted. Many uplift projects had been implemented in the province alongside thousands of other across the country since Hamid Karzai took power of Afghanistan as president, as seen in the Northern provinces across the country.
