Afghanistan to Face Australia Friday in T20 World Cup

KABUL (BNA) Afghanistan’s national cricket team will face Australia in T20 World Cup Friday host by the country Australia.

The match will start in 8:20 a.m. Afghanistan time.

With two defeats against England and Sri Lanka and two draws against Ireland and New Zealand, the Afghanistan national cricket team is left with only two points in the table of the first group of 20-round World Cup matches and qualifying for the next stage.

The match between Afghanistan and Australia will be ceremonial for both teams. Australia has confirmed its promotion to the next round, but Afghanistan will not step to the next stage even if they win against the host.

The head coach of the Afghanistan national cricket team told BNA that his liners will face the powerful Australia with double motivation to win.

He said that the national team is affected by the elimination from the World Cup, but this will never stop them from appearing unmotivated in their recent game against Australia.
