President Ghani Holds Farewell Meeting With Australian Ambassador, Former Ministers

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met to say good bye to the outgoing Australian ambassador to Kabul John Philip yesterday, Presidential Press Office in a statement reported BNA.
In the meeting that took place at the Presidential Palace, President Ghani thanked the Australian support to Afghanistan over the last 13 years, the statement added.
The President wished success to Ambassador John in his future career, appreciated his good will, positive judgment and understanding towards Afghanistan and his efforts during his tenure in enhancing relations between the two countries, the statement further added. In return, Ambassador John described Afghanistan as a country of importance to Australian and expressing pleasure for having served in Afghanistan, wished success to President Ghani and the new government of Afghanistan in all fields, reforms program in particular.
According to another report, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan held a farewell meeting in Arg with the former government ministers. In the meeting that was attended by First and Second Vice-Presidents, General Abdul Rashid Dostum and Sarwar Danesh, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Engineer Mohammad Khan the first deputy to CEO, President Ghani thanked the former ministers for their service to the people of Afghanistan. Addressing the former ministers the President said, “It was through your experiences, knowledge and vision that we have reached this stage. The coming months and years also depend on us and we need your advice and your help”.
In the meeting, Dr. Abdullah also thanked the ministers for their support and cooperation said, “During the past two months of National Unity Government we benefited from your advice and your cooperation didn’t let any gaps in the government affairs”.
Speaking on behalf of the former ministers, Farooq Wardak, the former Education Minister thanked the President and CEO for their trust over the past two months. Mr. Wardak added, “What had brought us all together as a unified team over the last 13 years was our common national objectives not the tribe, party or political tendencies.
