Youth Parliament To Be Formed Within A Month, Kamal Sadaat

Kabul (BNA) Acting Minister of Information and Culture and deputy youth affairs minister Dr. Kamal Sadaat said that selection process for establishing the youth parliament to begin within one month, BNA reported.
Speaking during a news conference here yesterday, Sadat said elections would be conducted in all over the province of the country, adding that based on which the youth parliament would be formed and would formally began working.
The deputy minister went on saying that those having membership of social and civil institutions would be eligible to have membership in the parliament.
UN representative Dr. Murad Momand said that those willing to have membership should have the age of 18–30 and hold high school certificate. The conference decided to organize a meeting with participants of the officials of deputy ministry on youth affairs in the provinces of the country, so that to fix the date for the election and draft the eligibility and job descriptions of the youth parliament.
Near 120 youth would be selected for the parliament from all over Afghanistan, where 33 percent would be dedicated to female, 3 percent to nomads, 3 to disabled and one to each Hindu and Sikh community. The youth parliament is aimed to be established so that to further involve the country’s young generation in socio-political affairs.
According to another report, acting Minister of Information & Culture met with deputy of Hindu & Sikh council of Afghanistan, BNA reported, adding that Charan Singh asked the acting minister to further pay attention to situation of Sikh and Hindu community and dedicate a seat to the community’s youth in upcoming youth parliament.
Acting minister Dr. Kamal Sadat assured of dedication a seat to Hindu and Sikh community in upcoming youth parliament, adding that would share their problems and challenges with President Mohamamd Ashraf Ghani.
