Kabul (BNA) Relation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan is an outstanding example of regional cooperation and good neighborhood should be follow by the countries of the region.
Commenting on the issue the economic analyst of BNA writes, recently Mr. Qurban Quli Burdi Mohammadof the president of Turkmenistan visited Kabul. During his visit, the Turkmenistan president signed five cooperation agreements with his Afghan counterpart, which include increasing the exportation of power from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, promoting trade between the 2 countries, cooperation on gas and carpet industry, building a railroad through Afghanistan to Tajikistan and preventing money laundry.
Meanwhile the heads of the countries holding a news conference expressed their opinions regarding to expansion of cooperation and further strengthening regional cooperation. During the news conference, the Turkmenistan president once again expressed his readiness for hosting peace negotiations between Afghanistan and armed oppositions for ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The Turkmenistan president explicitly said that they were ready to assist Afghanistan avoiding any interference in domestic affairs of that country and the relation between the two countries would base on mutual respect.
He emphasizing on solution of the current problems of Afghanistan through political means and constructive negotiations supervising by UN and regional countries said all the countries of the region should jointly fight against terrorism and extremism.
According the Afghan political experts the visit of Turkmenistan president had the message of goodwill, support, good neighborhood, tolerances and cooperation. Turkmenistan is among the countries that have always been beside Afghanistan and tries to reduce the problems and tension in this country, never been in the status to follow only its own interests, and been a good commercial partner for economic growth of Afghanistan. Turkmenistan is one of the countries that export power to Afghanistan. In addition, Afghanistan imports gas from that country and seriously, interests to the growth of the regional cooperation, for this reason emphasize on TAPI project to put in practice, which, conveys gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan to India. In addition, Turkmenistan is an architect of constructing a railroad that connects Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan through Afghanistan. If these projects implemented not only Afghanistan, inter in to a new chapter of political and economic cooperation but also, rescue from dependence to transit roads of neighboring countries that always create problems for Afghan merchants.
The friendly relation of Afghanistan with Turkmenistan and other meddle Asian republics indicate that Afghanistan consistently insists on further expansion of regional cooperation and prefers the growth of economic growth then unsound political rivalries among the countries of the region.
The present day situation requires further mutual understanding to rid of the threats and challenges of terrorism and extremism and this noble goal only can be achieve through understanding the evil aim of terrorism and extremism and jointly struggling those heinous phenomenon and respecting the mutual interests of the countries of the region.
The Afghan people hope as the border between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan has called the border of peace, the southern borders of Afghanistan also to be changed in the border of peace and our country further be no a place for exporting terrorism, extremism and proxy war but become a center of economic activities.
