Afghanistan Must Not Expect Pak Cooperation On Restoration of Lasting Peace, Stability

Monday August 8, 2016

Kabul (BNA) The Afghan government has always been emphasizing that sans Pakistan cooperation, peace cannot be restored in Afghanistan.
But now, it has been clear that Pakistan is reluctant in restoration of reliable peace in Afghanistan, because five QCG meetings were held and made separate decisions but produced no result due to lack of sincere support of Pakistan. Pakistan has never taken step against those insurgent groups who disturb security in the region. Last week, the US stopped assistance of $300 million on Pakistan due to in acting against Afghan Taliban and Haqqani network which was welcomed by Afghan intelligentsia. These pressures would hope to force Pakistan to sincerely fight terrorism.
Prior to that, the US congress had conditioned $400m military assistance to Islam Abad during the approval of 2017 defense budget, to targeting of Haqqani network. But the Afghan leader made it clear that Pakistan has no such evident to prove its steps against Haqqani network. Although Pakistani authorities emphasized that peace talks are the best option for restoration of reliable peace in Afghanistan as QCG meetings are its most important part, but QCG meetings have not produced expected outcome. It seems that the Pakistan government is playing with the word of peace through political takes and talks no practical step. Forceful expulsion of Afghan refugees and construction of gate in Torkham border shows that Pakistan no longer wants to have good relations with Afghanistan and is only trying to create barriers against the present government and make it at close quarters with serious problems. Pakistan imagines that Afghanistan friend ship with India is in disadvantage of Pakistan, while Afghanistan is an independent country and choses no such friendship with one country to be in disadvantage of others, because Afghanistan knows very well the real meaning of Diplomacy and political relations. The Afghan president said to a Pakistan media Diplomacy and relations are not domestic relations to be completed only with calling brotherhood. It has its own particular lines and mechanism. It requires practical steps.
It should be said that at present actually Pakistan doesn’t use diplomacy but talks with military language. The civilians, who represent people, have no authority. In Pakistan every things is in the hand of intelligence (I.S.I) and military leaders. Evident show that soon Pakistan will be isolated. Because Pakistan has chosen one way, that is against neighboring and world countries. The world community particularly the USA would not allow it to continue its current policy. The American authorities also believe that Pakistan has spent and invested all assistance received on war on terror, for strengthening of terrorist groups. At present nearly 30 terrorist groups are involved in subversive activities including Haqqani, Jamatulahrar, Lashkar-e-Tayeba, Lashkar Jangavi, Uzbkistan Movement, TTP, Quetta council, Peshawar council, Ali-NasratGroupe, al-Qaeda, Sepah-e-Sahban, Jesh-e-Mohammad, Daesh and others who are carrying activities freely without any pressure under the shadow of I.S.I. .Their main residences are in V.I.P area, Haibat area. Killing of Osama, free movement of Taliban senior officials with Pakistani passports and foresail of these people are clear examples that Pakistan cannot rescue itself from accusation of supporting terrorism. If Pakistan has not taken any counter-terror step, it may be meant that Pakistan implement instructions of the world intelligence. But at regional level, Pakistan would fail to implement their goals this country should no longer be called as Pakistan but it should be called as the “Station of threats”.
