KABUL (BNA) The country’s Interior Minister, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, met with the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Afghanistan Markus Potzel, in Khost province.
Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani hailed Markus Potzel and also thanked the UN delegation for their cooperation and assistance, said the Ministry in a statement.
During the meeting with country’s Interior Minister, the acting head of UNAMA promised to accelerate the delivery of aid for the victims in southeast.
According to the Interior Ministry, the representatives of the people affected by the earthquake in Paktika and Khost for comfort and promised that they will soon send relief teams to the affected sites for the assessment of the damaged houses.
The representative vowed to send professional teams of geologists to investigate earthquake-affected sites for the assurance of the local people, quoting the Ministry statement.
