Amir-ul-Mominoon of IEA, banned Poppy Cultivation Across the Country

Kabul (BNA) As per the decree of the supreme leader of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), All Afghans are informed that from now on, cultivation of poppy has been strictly prohibited across the country.


According to BNA reporter, A media conference attended by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan at the Ministry of Interior and, a number of cabinet members, foreign diplomats and officials, held today.
At the beginning, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Deputy Administration of Ministry of Interior (MoI), said,3.5 million are addicted to drugs and this is a humanitarian catastrophe. He added.
Ministry of Interior (MoI) has so far collected about 20,000 people in the capital and provinces and is undergoing treatment.
Later, Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, Deputy Minister for Counter Narcotic of Ministry of Interior, briefed the participants on the activities and achievements of the ministry over the past seven months and said that the ministry is working on building a large complex It will have a capacity of about 30,000 people.
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Minister of Administration of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said: ” the supreme leader of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Shaikh-al-hadith Mawlawi Habtullah Akhundazdah, has issued a decree prohibiting the cultivation, trafficking and use of any kind of narcotics in Afghanistan.”
He added that Afghanistan, as a member of the international community and the government of Afghanistan as a responsible government, has a responsibility to its nation and the international community to stop the cultivation, trafficking and use of any kind of narcotics in the country.
Mawlawi Hanafi stressed that the Islamic Emirate is fully committed to its decision and called on Islamic countries, the international community and national businessmen to cooperate with the Islamic government of Afghanistan to create an alternative crop for farmers.
