NUG Committed To Eradicate Corruption

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during his visit to Abu Dhabi met a number of UAE-based Afghan businessmen and traders vowed the government of national unity is committed to eradicate corruption, BNA reported.
During the meeting, the president said that the private sector besides problems had good achievements in Afghanistan in recent years. Hinting to concerns among investors over corruption in Afghanistan, president Ghani said he is committed to root out corruption and make the environment suitable for investors in the country, urging them to invest in their land. In meeting with the businessmen, President Ghani also hoped that Afghanistan’s products and its agriculture could help the country stand on its own feet.
The infrastructure plan of the country would be made with China’s support; the president said and urged the investors to invest in construction sector.
Afghanistan’s transport sector needs attention and the country should take its spare management within six months, the president said, adding, Afghanistan needs UAE cooperation. Calling for poverty eradication, the president said that achieving the goal requires sustainable development and strong partnership between government and the private sector.
Describing banking system very important for development, the president also called upon the investors to deposit their capital in banks and utilize it in investment. He also noted that the investment in mining should be encouraged via fair agreements. The president also said that Afghanistan should become exporter in the field of agricultural products.
Meantime, the UAE-based Afghan businessmen expressed their readiness for investment in Afghanistan, calling upon government to ensure peace, security and environment free of corruption.
