Global Support of Afghanistan

Tuesday December 13, 2016

Kabul (BNA) The global resolute political and financial support of US $15.2 billion led by the US and EU will be available in four years for rebuilding Afghanistan as the EU US $5.6 billion share as the biggest donor in few upcoming years.
The global financial supports to Afghanistan will depend on continuation of war on corruption and accelerating political, economic reforms. Improving of security in Afghanistan is one of the main challenges. The EU would support ANSDF in this direction. Democratic political reforms and improving of peace process in Afghanistan would be paving the way for a sustainable security. President Ashraf Ghani said that the NUG will be making efforts to implement socio-economic reforms as the global financial support will be available to our country within the framework of socio-economic plans and projects. Continuation and effectiveness of these aids depend upon implementation of plans by the NUG.
The Afghan government would be fighting with corruption, smuggling and insecurity and will be taking drastic steps for restoration of reliable peace in the country.” The approach of the German government on payment of US $1.7 billion aids for return of Afghan refugees, doesn’t include legal Afghan refugees and asylum seekers but depends on illegal refugees in EU soil or those whom their asylum applications have been rejected. In recent months, the volunteer repatriation movement of Afghan refugees has started and every day in average of 6000 Afghan refugees return from Iran and Pakistan. The global commitments on Afghanistan will be sustainable and the EU aids particularly would improve security and economic development in this war-torn territory. The US would not leave Afghanistan in war on terror alone as the US had been playing vital role in formation of ANA, ANP. The decisive role of the US has made the Afghans to think that no important and essential socio, economic, political and military project will be taking place in this country without direct effective involvement and support of this single global super power. Beside NATO troops the US forces play basic and vital role in war on insurgents and the other regional countries including China, India, Iran, Russia even Pakistan should also help this country to achieve political stability and socio-economic development.
Poverty and insurgency are main challenges that the world support would capable us to fight them effectively. Over 39% of Afghan people are under the poverty line with US $1.5 daily income. In order to fill the gap of 130000 ISAF forces who have already left Afghanistan, the ANSF need time and despite of potential challenges ahead, people are hopeful to a bright future. If we compare present Afghanistan to fifteen years ago, we have achieved plenty of progress as this process is going on. In the last 15 years the children mortality has decreased 75% in Afghanistan, life expectancy has increased from 42 to 62 years and the people access to medical facilities has increased from 9 to 67 percent.
