Members Of High Peace Council Ask President To Assign Council Chairman

Kabul (BNA) Members of the High Peace Council in a meeting asked president Karzai to appoint chairman of the Council. 
The participants of the meeting said that the chairman should be the person who will be committed, have high social personality and trusted. 
They also praised the president’s efforts towards peace and added that the chairman of the peace council should be a person having good name in the society and his efforts parallel with the cooperation of the neighboring countries and the international community lead towards consolidation of peace and national unity in Afghanistan. 
Recalling the efforts of Shaheed Prof. Burhanuddeen Rabbani on the path of peace in Afghanistan the president said that Shaheed Ustad was a religious scholars and leader of Jehad who had recognition throughout the country and he was a proper person for the post in that time. 
The president confirmed the views of the peace council members in respect to future chairman for the council and stressed that soon he will appoint the chairman.
