Sunday, February 22, 2015
Kabul (BNA) In the past few weeks, Afghanistan's National Taekwondo team (ANTT) has lost its players as they all announce their resignation. On Saturday, two other athletes quit the team because of ongoing and un-solving issues with the National Olympic Committee.
Sayed Rustam Akbari and Mohammad Anwar Amiri, athletes in the poomsae sector of the National Taekwondo Team, have also accused the National Olympic Committee of fraud. They both explained as they were preparing to head to India to PARTICIPATE in the Black Belt Taekwondo Championship in India the committee sent a letter to the Indian Embassy stating that these men were "unknown," in other words, not a part of the team.
But according to the athletes, they have PARTICIPATED in several championships in India bringing home gold medals for their country.
