Kabul (BNA)  Defense Minister General Bismillah Mohammadi and US Defense secretary, Leon Panetta held meeting yesterday and discussed the security situation in Afghanistan, region, the development of national army, transition process and equipping Afghanistan air force, defense ministry spokesman office said. 
General Mohammadi, according to the source said in the meeting that the process of security transition is on track and welcomed by the people. 
The defense minister also called for necessary equipping of the national army to be able to defend the country independently after 2014l.  Speaking in the meeting the US defense secretary said that 2014 is the end of security transition process to Afghanistan security forces, saying US would remain alongside Afghanistan until it is able to tackle with any threat independently. 
Both the dignitaries also agreed that cooperation between US and Afghanistan in the long term would benefit the whole region.
