Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani commended National Security Advisor Mohammad Haneef Atmar for his invaluable services by awarding to him the High State medal of Ghani Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan.
The President also recognized the services and efforts of Ministry of National Defense Chief of Army Staff Qadam Shah Shahim, Senior Security Deputy Minister of Interior Abdur Rahman Rahman and Provincial Deputy Director of National Directorate of Security Abdul Matin Bek by awarding to them the state medals of valor. In the ceremony held in Arg on the occasion this morning the President commended the sincere and valuable services and efforts of National Security Advisor in enhancing coordination within the Armed Forces, attracting regional and international assistance for strengthening and equipping the Security and Defense Forces, combatting terrorism as well as building peace and stability in the country. The President commended the previous hard work of the National Security Advisor in strengthening the National Solidarity Program and serving in the education and security sectors.
He said that National Security Advisor Mohammad Haneef Atmar works with full sincerity and has an inclusive vision for Afghanistan with respect to national security and our regional and international relations. Thanking the president for conferring the medal on him, National Security Advisor said: “This is not only an honor for me, but for all our colleagues as well as our Defense and Security Forces. You honored us and with this honor our responsibilities also become heavier. We assure you that we will spare no efforts to bring peace, stability and prosperity to our people.” Awarding the state medals of valor to Ministry of National Defense Chief of Army Staff, Senior Security Deputy Minister of Interior and Provincial Deputy Director of National Directorate of Security, the President praised their sincere efforts and invaluable services in fighting terrorism and maintaining security and stability in the country. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said that the security and defense forces put behind a difficult year that required many sacrifices.
He added: “I thank you for your enduring efforts with which you could defense the sovereignty and independence of the people of Afghanistan: the people enjoy security and peace thanks to the sacrifices of the true sons and daughters of this land.” Addressing them, the President said: “You are the true sons of the country and you have proven that you are on the right path since as our struggle is between right and wrong; you fight on the frontlines, and you have spared no efforts in thwarting evil plots of the enemies of the people of Afghanistan.” The President said that the enemies of the people of Afghanistan have inflicted numerous financial losses on the people; in contrast, the security and defense forces strive for the prosperity and stability of their people and country. These medals are not only for you, but also for all the security and defense forces and the martyrs. The President once again commended the heroism and courage of security and defense forces in thwarting the ominous schemes of the enemies and added that these forces are making sacrifices on a daily basis for the security and prosperity of the people and keep the flag of Afghanistan hoisting.
