Kabul (BNA) Currently Afghanistan observes progress in various spheres. The withdrawal of foreign forces from the country by 2014 according to the timeframe set for their evacuation, the holding of the forthcoming presidential elections in nonviolent environment, the successful transition of security responsibilities from foreign forces to the Afghan national security forces, the full handover of the Bagram prison to the Afghan government sovereignty and pullout of US special forces from Nerkh district of Wardak province are clear indicators of Afghan government gains. The peace and reconciliation process retains pivotal role for a peaceful Afghanistan so the course should move forward effectively with positive consequences.
The time is running and the Afghan people wait and strive for their destiny making change. The momentum of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has also accelerated the momentum of activities that guarantee the restoration of durable peace and stability in the country and prevail a prosperous future to the Afghan people. Speeding up the peace efforts, the process of transition from the foreign forces and economic growth of the country are aspects encouraging Afghans to be confident on a steady future of Afghanistan. Recently President Hamid Karzai heading a high level delegation at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Bin Khalifah Aal-i-Thani visited Qatar to discuss ways to enhance the level of bilateral cooperation and Afghanistan peace process. The Afghan government has discussed the opening of Taliban office in Qatar for peace talks with the government armed oppositions. The United State of America that has been a strong ally of Afghanistan in the war on terror of aware of the Afghan issues also agrees with the opening of Taliban office in Qatar. For bringing durable peace to Afghanistan and speedy implementation of peace and reconciliation process president Karzai through various means attempted to invite government armed oppositions to negotiations table aimed to find solution of the dilemmas existed as obstacles before the peaceful, stable and prosperous future of the Afghan nation. President Karzai also during his trip to Qatar invited that country`s investors to invest in Afghanistan. The President in his meeting with the traders of Chamber of Commerce and Traders` Union of Qatar discussed the issues pertaining to opportunity for investment in Afghanistan. The president in his remarks to the Qatar traders said good opportunities exist for investment in Afghanistan in extraction of mines, building homes, producing energy, tourism, banking, hotel management and other spheres. The Afghan people call on the neighboring countries to support the Afghan government in accelerating the momentum of peace and reconciliation process as peace and stability in Afghanistan retains importance for the neighboring nations, regional countries and the international community and a stable, prosperous and development Afghanistan benefits every nation.
