Kabul (BNA) We were informed that the famous singer of the country Rahim Ghamzada who was suffering from illness has died at the age of 75 yesterday.
He had throat cancer and died at the Nangarhar hospital. Late Rahim Ghamzada has spent 55 of his age in preparing of poems and epic songs and many of his songs remain at the archive of National Radio-TV. Dr. Sayed Makhodoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture regretting his death called Ghamzada as outstanding singer who was poet writer and composer and had skills in play of musical instruments.
Dr. Raheen called his death of loss for the musical society of the country and condoled for his death to his family and relatives and the country’s artists.
According to another report, the body of late Rahim Ghamzada was put to rest in his ancestral cemetery.
The message of Minister of Information and Culture was read by head of the information and culture department of Nangarhar.
In the message Ghamzada was considered an outstanding singer who via music has rendered a good service to his people.
It adds that Ghamzada’s songs will remain in memory of his people and his fans and his death is a loss.
The head of the information and culture department Aurang Samim said at the ceremony that late Ghamzada has been a pious personality and mostly he was praying and was on fast.
Mohammad Hashim, Ghamshareek, advisor to the governor of the province read out the message of Gul Agha Sherzoi.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Zabeer Khaksar a relative of Ghamzada thanked government in charges over their sympathies.
His body was taken to Khogyani district for burial there.
His prayer is organized on the 26th of Qaus from 8 am to 11 am at the Gunbudi mosque of Hazrate Ali (PBUH) of Jalalabad city.
