Peace a National Consensus, President Ghani to Civil Society Members

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a meeting with a number of civil society activists discussed issues related to peace yesterday.
According to BNA report, in the meeting which was held at the Gul Khana Palace, Tahmina Shuja and Ahmad Etemadi, representing others thanked the President for his effort to hold consultation meeting with the people of different stratum on peace process said that they would take part in the country’s important decision-makings. Meanwhile, the President said; “You are representing the new Afghanistan and if you want to have further suggestions and opinions, you can nationalize your network.” He said peace was a national consensus and only the people of Afghanistan can define our values and that we should have clear determination and do not repeat the past bitter experience. According to the President, youth were the main stakeholders of peace process and he makes efforts to include them in any of the country’s important decision. The President went on as saying that the negotiating peace team would hold consultation meeting with the nation during any of hard or appropriate times.
