Kabul/Jalalabad (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during his one-day tour to Jalalabad, the eastern Nangarhar’s provincial capital, laid the foundation stone of a 1000-bed health complex, the Presidential Press Office said in a statement Sunday.
The area, where the big hospital for the eastern zone is expected to be built, comprised 260 acres of land and the great complex, after completion of the project, would include a 200-bed maternity hospital, a 150-bed hospital, 4 bed tuberculosis hospital, new building for the Nangarhar provincial hospital with the capacity of 600-bed hospital as well as would comprise medications and food maintaining depots, according to the statement.
Expressing happiness for the event, the president said he was deeply pleased to do one of his commitments to open the work project of the complex in Nangarhar province, said the statement.
The president went on as saying that private enterprises were not working well, so the project would be launched by the governmental enterprise.
By completion of the health complex, health problems of most of people from the eastern zone, particularly, the Nangarharharis would be met.
