Management of Afghan-Turk High Schools To Be Handed Over To Turkish Education Foundation: MoE

Kabul (BNA) While it was said that management of Afghan-Turk schools would be handed over soon to turkey education foundation but spokesman of the MoED Mujeeb Mehrdad said, the NUG had setup a joint commission of different government bodies including the ministry of education to study recommended packs of Turkey. This issue has not been finalized but upon completion, it would be shared with media.
He added, the packs include increase of the number of recruited students, sending of Afghan-Turk graduates to Turkey for higher education discount of tuition of families of ANSF martyrs and increase of Afghan-Turk schools at country level.
He continued, the Afghan MoE would precisely assess this issue as our first priority is this to prevent disrupting of lessons of these schools even for one single day over this management.
The NUG will undertake leadership of this commission. Naturally, our national interests are the first priority of the MoE and the NUG and every decision will be taken according to it.
Experts believe that Afghan-Turk schools play major and key role in promotion of students’ knowledge. Masihullah father of a student of these schools said, no doubt Afghan-Turk schools are very useful for our young generation. But these schools’ management and control should be with Afghans. The Turks are expected to focus further attention to send more Afghan students to Turkey.
Sadeq a local Afghan said, since their establishment, the Afghan Turk schools’ students have gained numerous achievements and students are satisfied with education quality in these schools and we hope in the future those schools would bring more achievements with their new leadership.
Based on available reports, primary steps for this transferring have been taken and the management of these schools will be handed over soon to Turkey Education Foundation. Certain sources said that the transferring process of these schools to T.E.F will be led by the Afghan N.S.C.
Based on media reports, Afghan-Turk schools are supported by leader of Gulen Movement Fathullah Gulen and following the failed coup d’etale last year, tensions aroused between Turkish president Rajab Tayeb Erdogan and Fathullah Gulen. For this reason, the Turkish government asked all countries to hand over management of these schools in their territory to Turkish government. The Afghan president according to media report, has already signed transferring order of this process.
The Afghan-Turk schools students have achieved hundreds medals in recent years and the NUG decision has caused severe reactions.
Since over 22 years, Afghan-Turk schools are operating in Afghanistan and currently over 8000 male and female students are being educated in these schools.
