Govt. Observes Transparency In International Assistance: Mastoor

Kabul (BNA) The deputy to finance ministry, Mustafa Mastoor said yesterday that the government observes transparency and accountability in spending the assistance contributed by the international community.
He made the remarks in talks with an international media outlet said that out of $16 billion pledged for Afghanistan at Tokyo Conference, $9 billion had been spent last year and the remaining $7 billion pledged at London Conference will be paid to Afghanistan next year.
He said the government would use the assistance in building infrastructures, providing job opportunities, improving local products, mining, agriculture and health and education fields. 
Meantime, a Kabul University lecturer Taj Mohammad Akbar in talks with BNA welcoming the international assistance, called on the government to utilize the assistance in achieving self-sufficiency of the country.
To achieve the goal, he said the government in first step should change the consuming economy to producing economy, to support agriculture and industry.
