Railway Construction Vital For Security, Economy

Kabul (BNA) The Islamic Government of Afghanistan for the contentment and prosperity of the people and for the economic development of Afghanistan has tried their possible best efforts and are trying to primarily establish peace and secondly to provide possible ways for the economic development and self reliance of the country.
The best example of these efforts is the participation of President Karzai in 17th SAARC Conference in Maldives and his meeting with Maldives president in which they discussed many barter agreements especially the construction of railway to connect the South Asian countries.
It is very important for Afghanistan because it is a landlocked country to connect by railway to South Asian countries by finding access to the ocean and for the export and import of their commodities.
Construction of railway will play pivotal role in the economic development and security of country, currently lack of railway in the country resulted in the belatedly arrival of commodities especially seasonal fruits to the world markets, with the construction of railway this difficulty will be removed spontaneously.
Last year, the minister of mines and chief of private Chinese company MCC signed an agreement included the construction of railway that connects Afghanistan to central and south Asian countries, the length of this railway will be 900 km.
Afghan government is struggling a lot in this regard by seeking the attention of international banks and NGOs to the construction of railway track as a result of which the Asian Development Bank agreed to grant 30 million dollars to Afghan government to construct railway track in the country by connecting Afghanistan to Central and South Asian countries and pave the way for the export and import of trade commodities.
If in real sense the project of railway is implemented much convenience will be made for the traveling of passengers and commodities and Afghan commodities will be reaching on time to world markets.
