Further Efforts Should be Made to Collect Incomes, President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a video conference talked to civil and military officials of 34 provinces.
In the video conference attended by deputy of customs and revenues, general director of IDLG, leading bodies of the country’s defense and security forces and a number of provincial governors, President Ghani stressed on increasing coordination and further efforts towards collecting incomes in the country’s provinces.
Stressing on prevention and losing incomes in custom houses, the country’s President instructed that legal actions would be taken against anybody including powerful individuals preventing from collection of revenues in custom houses.
President Ghani also instructed the country’s defense and security officials to increase their attention and monitoring from activities and transparency in custom houses for timely and legal collection of revenues.
Praising the ministry of finance for its efforts and activities in the field of collecting revenues and preparing budget, the country’s.  President stressed that like independent countries, they should also provide their budget from the domestic incomes.
He asserted that collecting revenues was a significant principle for the government of Afghanistan as it was in top working priorities of the government to reach self-sufficiency, adding that further efforts should be made to increase revenues as it was a national responsibility.
The country’s President further said that the government’s capacities in the field of collecting revenues and making the budget have increased, but systematic and regular programs should be made and implemented for further strengthening of this section in the country.
