Afghanistan Exports Worth $35 Million Dried Figs

KABUL (BNA) The Ministry of Industry and Commerce says Afghanistan has exported more than $35 million worth of dried figs in the past year.

According to BNA reporter, the ministry tweeted today that Afghanistan was able to export 7.155 tons of dried figs in 1400.

The ministry has estimated the total value of exports of this fruit in the country at $35.4 in the year 1400

Lately, the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Industry and commerce publicized that Afghanistan had exported more than $54 million worth of “Pine nut” and nearly $100 million worth of “Heing” abroad in the past year.

Fig is one of the most delicious fruits and one of the best fruits for export in Afghanistan, which is used to improve heart condition, lower cholesterol, prevent colon cancer, treat anemia, useful for diabetics, prevent breast cancer, strengthen bones, regulate high blood pressure, reduce sore throat, treat hemorrhoids, treat insomnia, strengthen the immune system, increase breast milk, rejuvenate the skin, anti-hair loss and other diseases.

Kandahar, Herat, Helmand, Zabul, Faryab, Balkh, and Uruzgan are reportedly producing the fruit.

in the meantime; India, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and a number of European countries are the largest consumers of Afghanistan’s figs.

At the current state, One kilogram of dried figs trades for about 1,000 afghanis in the market.
