Ahmad Zia Massoud Praises Mass Media Reporters

Kabul (BNA) A number of journalists of the country’s mass media were appreciated by Ahmad Zia Masoud, Special Envoy to President on Reforms and Good Governance.
In a ceremony held for appreciating recent activities of journalists and media, special envoy to president said media and press have had good activities and reflected facts in good way. He asserted that journalists by accepting possible risks were echoing facts from each corner of the country and playing considerable role towards awareness, adding that media has been able to aware the people of faults and low-proficiency of a number of government’s officials. Special envoy to President declared his resolute support from media and speech freedom. In his speech, special envoy to president while calling Taliban as a servant group said the group has become more violating and much wanted to kill the people. Considering Pakistan as key factor of instability and insecurity in the country, Ahmad Zia Masoud said peace would be an irrational word until Pakistan did not reach its goals. In the ceremony, executive chairman of Nai or Afghanistan Free Media Supporter Khelwatgar asked the government to address 500 cases of journalists faced with violations and death cases of 48 journalists whose cases have not been addressed yet. Khelwatgar also asked the government for cooperation with media harmed in recent battles of Kunduz. At the end of the ceremony, appreciation certificates were distributed by special envoy to president to a number of journalists of various media of the country.
