Kabul (BNA) Workshop on gender and awareness on national working plan for women held here by the ministry of information and culture and women affairs ministry in coordination with the office of Justice Support here yesterday.
Speaking the workshop, Mahbouba Saadat the director of gender department of the ministry for information and culture stated that holding such conferences is important for giving awareness about women rights and checking violence against women in society. Some women in Afghanistan are illiterate and have no knowledge about their rights, she said, saying the media outlets can play important role in giving awareness on women rights. Gulrukh Badakhshi and Sooma Qazizada of the ministry for women affairs also spoke on the occasion and gave awareness on women rights.
