Cabinet Approved Plan to Form a Committee of National Hajj

KABUL (BNA) Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan cabinet meeting approved a draft plan by the Transport and Civil Aviation Ministry forming a Committee of National Hajj.

Deputy spokesman of Islamic Emirate Inamullah Samangani said the plan was drafted and approved by the cabinet to regulate and improve related subjects in the process of Hajj transportation.

According to the Cabinet decision, the committee led by Deputy Prime Minister Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi a comprising Ministries of Promotion of Virtue and prohibition of vice, Hajj, Justice, Finance, Public Health, Foreign Affairs, Interior, General Directorate of Intelligence, and Chamber of Commerce will monitor the transportation of Hajj process.

Alongside, a provincial committee of National Hajj will be formed consisting of deputies of the Governor of provinces, attended by officials of Ministers of Transportations, Hajj, Police Headquarter Commander of Kabul, Treasury Department, General Directorate of Intelligence, and Public Health Ministry.

Afghan pilgrims for many years have been complaining about existing consequences during their stay for Hajj and accused the relevant departments of negligence in providing services and facilities.

In the meantime, due to the coronavirus outbreaks in the last two years in the world, Saudi Arabia has limited Hajj for Hajj performers.

Despite this, Saudi Arabia announced increasing pilgrims up to one million for the current year, and above a thousand Afghans demand to perform Hajj for the year.
