Telecommunication Employees’ Strike Continuing In Baghlan

Kabul (BNA) Work strike of personnel and employees for provincial directorate of telecommunication of Baghlan has entered to its seven days.
Offices of the directorate are remained closed for all visitors, resulting in creating serious problems for government offices and common people.
Workers and employees for provincial directorate of telecommunication while gathering in front of provincial governor office asked for sacking provincial director of telecommunication Sayed Jawad Qayoumi and stressed that they would continue their strike until dismissing of the director.
Deputy Governor of Baghlan Mohammad Qadeem assured that problems of directorate’s employees would be soon solved as a result of a conformation made with ministry of telecommunication.
The strike has come after employees of the telecommunication accused their provincial director of corruption and threatening the employees. Meanwhile, an official for ministry of telecommunication denied any strike of employees for provincial directorate of telecommunication, saying based on requirement of the ministry, provincial director of telecommunication of Baghlan has been changed to Logar province and a new director has been appointed for Baghlan telecommunication directorate.
