A Campaign to Raise Donations for the Earthquake Victims Start in Logar

KABUL (BNA) The Department of Information and Culture, the University, journalists, the officials, and the youth in Logar started a campaign to raise donations for suffering families of the earthquake victims in Khost and Paktika provinces.

The quake, which struck two parts of Paktika and Khost provinces on Tuesday night, killed and injured scores of people and caused severe financial damage to residents of Khost and Paktika provinces.

Dr. Qudratullah Adel, Logar’s director of public health, told BNA that 6 ambulances were equipped and some medicine, including seven healthcare staff, had been sent to the affected areas and a blood donation campaign had been launched with the help of Logar students, professors, doctors, and residents.

Rafiullah Samim, Logar’s director of information and culture, said that officials, journalists, youths, and the public had taken part in the campaign to support compatriots affected by the recent earthquake.

The campaign for fundraising is ongoing and will continue for another two days. He called on the international community, capitalists, and the public to pay attention to the victims and survivors of the earthquake in Paktika.

In the city of Pul-e-Alam, the center of Logar, a tent was set up to collect aid for the victims of the recent earthquake, so that people could collect aid to help the victims.

Abdul Wasea, a young man, said that people should contribute to the affected families according to their financial ability. dozens of schoolchildren also donated blood to treat the victims of the Paktika and Khost earthquakes.

“We started this campaign with a common goal,” said Abdul Jamil, a blood donor.

Meanwhile, Khan Mohammad Nezami, President of the Logar Money Changers Association, praised the information and culture efforts in the fundraising campaign and promised to cooperate.
