Verily Martyrs of Freedom Make Country’s History

Monday September 9, 2013

Kabul (BNA) It is due to celebrate the death anniversary of Afghan National Hero Ahmad Shah Massoud in a number of provinces and Kabul city.
The assassination of Masoud was a big loss for the country.
Masoud struggled for his entire life to protect the country’s sovereignty and bring peace.
Masoud, who played significant role in a war against  ex-soviet union invasion  in 1980s and then blocked Taliban and advance in 1990s was killed by two Arab suicide bombers who disguised themselves as journalists in September 9, 2001 in northeast Takhar province in the first-ever suicide attack in Afghanistan.
Masoud has been regarded as National Hero of Afghanistan and each year his death anniversary is observed nationwide.
A number of political analysts and MPs believe that only glorious celebration from martyrs’ week is not ample we should inform the new generations specially the youths regarding their epics till they know that their country’s history was filled with lots of sacrifices.
Sahib Nazar Moradi, advisor for second vice president said in the connection, “Unfortunately, Afghanistan experienced 30 years of domestic wars especially with Soviet Union’s invading forces, in this struggle many people were killed and injured from Mujahidin side and finally Ahmad Shah Masoud was also assassinated by the terrorists.
He added, “Every year we celebrating from martyrs’ of freedom path, especially Ahmad Shah Masoud.
During three decades war Afghanistan had two millions martyrs and thousands displaced people in the country.
According to Ahmad Behzad, a parliament member, considering of 30 years of war in Afghanistan, we can say that majority of martyrs are family members of martyrs and during war every family had lost their dears.
Celebrating from martyrs week is every ones right, therefore if the government is not commemorating from this day, the people of Afghanistan will glorious celebrate from historical and martyrs days in the country.”
Behzad added, “In my opinion the government should support the martyrs’ families financially, because they had lost their valuable lives in the way of freedom.
He also emphasized that the government should not remind the families of martyrs just one day, and glorious celebrations also put a negative impact on society and it is also a kind of disrespect to our personalities.
Besides supporting of martyrs families in livelihood portion, a healthy economic program should be also considered till for long time their families lives be guaranteed.
Javid Kohistani, analyst in political affairs said in this connection, “You know better that the national and historical values of Afghanistan drinking water from the bloods of martyrs and until the nations and martyrs did not give their bloods they have not succeeded to achieve their independence.
In the past commemorating from martyrs was celebrated glorious but unfortunately at present the morale of demanding freedom has become less and there is not enough attention in this regard.
One of the challenges that we have currently, is less attention of a number of youths to the government and national values which caused that our people to pass apathetically through historical events.
Nahida, who lost his two children during war, said that the government has just paying attention to the important personalities and they don’t commemorating from poor peoples.
I expected the government to support me but unfortunately till now nay organs have been assisted yet.
