3 Important Contracts Signed

Kabul (BNA) Three important contracts covering Ghazni-Kandahar road construction, road building project between Qaisar-Dara-e-Boom and extension of electricity cables from Kabul to Nangarhar and Laghman provinces, were signed at the presidential palace, said a statement Sunday.
The contracts were signed by Eklil Hakimi, the country’s finance minister and acting governor of Asian Development Bank, said a statement from the presidential palace.
Under the signed contracts road between Ghazi in and Kandahar would be reconstructed with the cost of up to 30.3 million USD, 30 million of which would be paid as gratis aid by the ADB and the remaining 0.3 million USD from the government budget, according the statement.
The construction project of 151 kilometer Qaisar-Dara-e-Boom road is also expected to be funded through the 330 million gratis assistance of the ADB. The contraction project of the road is part of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation program, said the statement adding the government of Afghanistan would also spend up to 4 million USD reaching to 334 million totally to complete the project by the end of 2022, by the ministry of public works.
The ADB would also fund the 220 kilowatt power extension project from Kabul to Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, said the statement.
