CDMA High Commissions Holds Session

Kabul (BNA) High government commission for Counter Disaster Management Authority (CDMA)’ session was held yesterday under the chairmanship of second vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili.
Presidential press office stated BNA, in the session, second vice president representing government and the commission expressed sadness over flowing floods and offered condolence and sympathy to those families who had lost their beloved ones and suffered heavy losses.
Khalili said leading panel of the government while expressing sadness and offering sympathy to affected of the recent floods has ordered to address and provide assistance to the affected families and issued necessary instructions in this regard.
The vice president said he had pursued the issue from early hours of the incident and repeatedly instructed relevant organs and local administration for addressing and saving those who were stuck in floods. He appreciated MoD, MoI, MRRD, MoPW, MoPH, Red Crescent Society, Commission for Counter Disaster Management Authority and domestic and foreign organizations.
According to the vice president, it is determined that a high-ranking panel in combination of high-ranking government officials and a number of representatives of people in Wolisi Jirga will visit the flood-hit areas and express sympathy with affected families. Afterwards, officials of CDMA delivered a report related to losses of the recent floods. Based on the report, more than 110 people have been died and 40 others missing due to flowing floods in Jouzjan, Faryab, Badghis, Sar-e-Pul, Samangan, Balkh, Laghman, Herat and Kapisa provinces. Meanwhile, residential houses, agricultural farms, gardens, canals, wells and shops have been destroyed and a large number of cattle-breeding perished in the incidents.
