Terrorist Attack on Shaheen 209 Corps Under Investigation, Murtazawi

Kabul (BNA)  Acting spokesman to the president, Shah Hussain Murtazawi, told a press conference here on Sunday that information about the attack would be shared with people after the fact-finding commission tasked with investigating the incident completed its work.
“If a commander or any official of the corps is somehow involved or had committed negligence will be taken to task,” he said, adding the president, who met the bereaved families in Balkh, had directed the organs concerned to use all available resources in treatment of the wounded soldiers and helping the martyrs’ families.
The injured would be under intensive care and seriously wounded would be shifted to Kabul and foreign countries for better treatment, he said.
Murtazawi said the president had also ordered security organs to take strict measures for security of military bases considering militants’ techniques.
“An attack like this beyond the Taliban and terrorists’ ability without support from an active government network, we in Afghanistan are not fighting a civil war but an international conflict, regional and other countries should understand us,” he said.
The presidential spokesman said the unity government was making all needed efforts for eradication of Afghanistan enemies and the Afghan forces had the ability to counter the enemies despite some problems.
“Our stance against terrorism and our enemies is very clear, those who have taken up weapons against our people would be targeted by our security forces,” he added.
