KANDAHAR CITY (BNA) Two American soldiers have been killed in an apparent insider attack in southern Kandahar province.
The U.S. soldiers have been targeted by an Afghan security troop in a military camp in Shah Wali Koot district of the province.
The NATO military alliance’s so-called Resolute Support (RS) mission announced the deaths in a statement on Monday, without giving further details.
The reason behind the incident is not clear so far.
The attack brings to the total fatalities of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan this year to 14.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Monday that Trump had ordered him to reduce the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan by the 2020 election.
